Art Boys Collection - Stoned wall (Austria 1972) GP1007LP
Truly rare Austrian psych-rock with a unique flavor that crosses folk, prog and freak-beat sounds with even a Beatle’esque sound, great vocal harmonies and a heavy dose of psychedelic vibes. Limited release of 400 copies in black vinyl and 100 in white vinyl. Comes in beautiful gatefold cover with colour insert.
The time Wasters– Time Wasters- (UK 1978) GP1013LP
Canterbury style UK fragile folk with psych leanings. UK album recorded by a group of students at the Ingestre Hall Residential Arts Centre. The name of the band was actually a joke based on newspaper advertisements for musicians to join bands, which would sometimes end with "No time wasters"! So Greg Holt, the band's founder, called them "Time Wasters Only" and the generic name for any of the musicians in the group became "Time Wasters". Musically ranging from fragile and melodic folk with Bluesy moments and even soul-jazz vibes, encompased in a psych-folk-rock with Canterbury signature. A lost album in the brink of a new era, echoing sounds of British progressive and psych-folk. Fully licensed reissue limited to 500 copies only.
The Bleu Forest – A thousand trees deep (USA 1968) GP1025LP
USA produced such a vast variety of garage bands, that were highly influenced by major known bands of the time like Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix & The Experience and The Grateful Dead. Every little town in the US has been over-flooded with teenagers full of enthusiasm and ideas reflecting the electrifying times, when everything suddenly seemed to be possible. One of the better local bands, that came and went with the ’60s fading into plastic ’70s were Ventura County’ Bleu Forest. So far only a handful of people heard these 1968 unreleased recordings, which were hidden in Caviness (only surviving member) basement and let me say this: What we have here is a lost psych-garage classic. A crossover between groovy melodies of Moby Grape mixed with Steppenwolf heaviness. Limited to 500 copies on vinyl in gatefold cover including a detailed story by surviving member Jack Caviness.
Firefay & Alison O'Donnell – Anointed Queen (UK 2014) GP1024LP
UK dark folk band FIREFAY team up with ex-MELLOW CANDLE co-founder Alison O’Donnell to create an intriguing ethereal album of baroque, folk-rock and prog sounds. Alison’s crystalline voice spirals through the songs making it contemporary and with a European echo. Here is an album that shines a light on a wide variety of themes, many of which still profoundly affect society. It is as rewarding musically as it is lyrically. Limited to 199 hand-numbered copies on vinyl with printed lyrics.
Life- Life (Sweden 1972) GP1010LP
Reissue in limited colourful gatefold cover. Another lost Swedish Gem originally released on the EMI Harvest label. Directly licensed by EMI.There were two versions of this album, one with Swedish Lyrics and a much rarer one with all English Lyrics. This reissue is the English Lyrics version. 500 copies only.
Mario Garcia – Sr. Cisne- (Brazil 1982) GP1006LP
A mesmerizing album that unbelievably is still unknown to most collectors! A Latin-rock venture that explores the African rooted music of Uruguay with dense percussion, complex time signatures, driving electric guitar solos, and an assertive groove that lies somewhere between wicked funk and psych-prog leanings with long instrumental parts relying on strong bass lines, killer percussion and an ever-present Santana-like electric guitar. Originally released in a tiny run of just a few hundred copies. Fully licensed limited reissue of 450 copies on black vinyl and 250 copies on red vinyl and alternate red cover.
Raven (USA) - Who do you see- (USA Recorded 1976/ Unreleased) GP1020LP
Originally from Terre Haute Indiana, members of Raven played and toured with bands such as Reo Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Dan Fogelberg etc.. George Phelps who had joined The "Carnations" met up with "Goliath" members in a studio and through a myriad of circumstances, teaming up with drummer Robert Wolff (ex "Micah") these musicians merged into "Raven" in Louisville KY in late 1972. From this moment on, the band toured extensively through 24 states non-stop for the next 4 years before recording this material in 1976, unreleased until today. The material was recorded in Atlanta Georgia at a studio called "The Sound Pit" Memories of going into the studio at night and working until the sun came up and feeling like I was floating on a cloud because it sounded so good (Doug - Raven's lead singer). Soon after the recording was completed, Raven got a record deal with Capricorn records. 2 weeks later, they went bankrupt. The tapes were subsequently destroyed in a fire. With Disco sound moving in in the mid seventies and with the bankrupcy of Capicorn records, Raven was literally like fish out of water, and slowly but steadily what had felt like the beginning of something unique, was lost. Musically the album relies on a hard driving progressive sound with a very rhythmic approach filled with virtuoso guitar & keyboard solos as well as pulsating bass lines in a hard-rock backing. Think Primus meets Emerson, Lake & Palmer with a touch of Yes, Deep Purple, Rush and Dream Theater. ..Features Robert Wolff previously with Micah and currently with Corvus Stone. Finally Who do you see sees the light of day 37 years after being recorded. Strictly limited to 500 copies in high quality old-style tip-on jacket + obi.
Hand (USA) - Little heartaches
Gino Pertot - Jew Nails (Austria 1976) GP1001LP
Finally this lost gem of Austrian psych folk is reissued after being lost for over 34 years! This is probably the RAREST Austrian LP, and one of the most elusive records ever. The music is honest and spontaneous, crossing paths between fragile folk and psychedelic dark undertones with a touch of glam, expressive lyrics and fleeting guitar lines. The 200 copies privately pressed in 1976 (two runs of 100 copies each) were mostly given to friends and sporadically sold at concerts. This issue is limited to 700 copies in black vinyl.
Yves Rakotomalala - Ce matin encore- (France (Madagascar) 1981) GP1008LP
Yves Rakotomalala from the acclaimed "Yves, Serge & Victor" album "Cagibi" recorded this elusive album a few years after he left the group. Musically we are in the same vein as "Cagibi": A delicate fragile westcoast-tinged psych-folk with acoustic/ electric backing & amazing vocals, very close in sound and style to Neil Young in his "After the gold rush" period. Every track is excellent with one side sung in English and the other in French. Originally released as a private pressing of 200 units. This is a fully licensed exact reissue limited to 400 copies in black vinyl and 200 copies in solid red and gold mixed vinyl.
Edition Speciale– Allee des tilleuls- (France 1976) GP1016LP
Female fronted jazz-rock fusion bridging swift funk grooves and heavy progressive sounds with lots of vibrant scorching guitar, drum breaks and swirly complex keyboard solos. Powerful vocals by Ann Ballester and a visible virtuoso playing from all band members. Recommended to fans of Mahavishnu Orchestra, Brand X, Gong, mid-period Soft Machine or Return To Forever. 180 gram vinyl, limited to 500 copies only.
