A fascinating and somewhat overlooked soundtrack by Gerry Mulligan.The music is cinematic, and full of atmosphere, blending Mulligan’s unmistakable baritone sax tone with lush string arrangements and moments of quiet tension. You can hear the darkly romantic noir influence — smoky, elegant, slightly melancholic — with that distinct 1970s European crime-thriller vibe. La Menace is an absolute gem.
